The Wait is Over: Nissan Unrolls The 2024 Z Nismo With Enhanced Performance

2024-z-nismo

Nissan is primed to redefine the sports car landscape with the introduction of the 2024 Nissan Z NISMO, engineered for an unmatched track experience.

The NISMO grade stands as a beacon for adrenaline enthusiasts, leveraging on the capabilities of the Z Sport and Performance grades. Notable features include an augmented twin-turbo engine output of 420 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque, reflecting an increase of 20 hp and 34 lb-ft compared to the standard Z grades. These performance metrics are achieved through improved cooling, increased turbocharger boost and turbine speed, and an ignition strategy borrowed from the GT-R NISMO. Moreover, the model comes with an enhanced engine oil cooler suitable for extended track performance.

Outside, the Z NISMO is distinguished by aerodynamic enhancements engineered for racetrack domination. The signature “G-Nose” or “Grand-Nose” design, a nod to Nissan’s heritage Fairlady 240ZG, further advances the car’s aerodynamics. Other refinements include a honeycomb mesh grille, front corner canards, and a redesigned three-piece rear spoiler. The car’s aesthetic is completed with a black-painted roof, gloss-black 19-inch Rays wheels, and an exclusive color palette including Stealth Grey.

Inside, the cockpit amplifies its elegance with red-anodized engine-start and drive mode buttons. The digital TFT meter display boasts a NISMO logo, complemented by Recaro seats clad in leather and Alcantara. A redesigned steering wheel, replete with a red marker at the 12 o’clock position, rounds out the interior.

Chassis enhancements include increased bracing and stiffening to accommodate higher cornering forces. The suspension system undergoes rigorous revision, with Z NISMO showcasing unique stabilizer bars, stiffer spring rates, and retuned dampers. The car’s grip is bolstered by Dunlop SP SPORT MAXX GT600 tires, tailored for the car’s improved performance profile. Furthermore, the braking system has been optimized with larger rotors and performance-focused brake pad compounds for extended track scenarios.

Transitionally, the Z NISMO exclusively uses a nine-speed automatic transmission refined for faster shifting. In addition to standard drive modes, the NISMO introduces a Sport+ mode, crafted specifically for circuit driving.

To conclude, the 2024 Nissan Z NISMO will be available in the fall. Pricing specifics remain under wraps but are expected soon. In the interim, enthusiasts can satiate their drive with the Nissan Z Sport and Performance grades, which continue to uphold Nissan’s sports car lineage. Both these grades come with a standard 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo engine and a bevy of features that appeal to every driving aficionado.
