The 2024 Nissan Rogue received a series of updates that make it even more competitive than before. Here are a few reasons why you should choose the new Rogue over the Mazda CX-5.
A powerful and efficient standard engine
The 2024 Nissan Rogue benefits from a new standard engine, as the previously available 1.5L turbocharged 3-cylinder engine is now included on all trim levels. This means that every version of the 2024 Rogue can now boast more standard power than the Mazda CX-5. Indeed, the Rogue generates an output of 201 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque, while the Mazda has to make do with only 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque in all but the most expensive trim levels. Thanks to this engine and the standard all-wheel-drive system, the 2024 Nissan Rogue provides an unexpected level of performance and impressive capabilities in inclement weather.
While the official fuel consumption figures for the 2024 Nissan Rogue are not yet available at the time of writing, the same engine used in the 2023 Rogue was rated at 8,4 L/100 km in the city and 6,7 L/100 km on the highway, which is an improvement over the CX-5’s figures of 9,1 L/100 km and 7,7 L/100 km respectively.
A high level of practicality
The 2024 Nissan Rogue is a very practical compact SUV that is capable of dealing with anything you can throw at it. This is even more evident when compared to the Mazda CX-5, as the Rogue benefits from more generous interior dimensions in almost every way. For example, the Rogue offers more headroom and legroom as well as the same shoulder room as the Mazda for the front passengers, while rear passengers are treated to more headroom and shoulder room. This contributes to making long trips in the Rogue more comfortable for everyone aboard.
Of course, this more generous cabin also translates to a larger cargo compartment, with the Rogue being able to offer up to 1,033 litres of space behind the rear seats and 2,098 litres behind the front seats. The Mazda CX-5 can only hold 872 litres and 1,679 litres in the same configurations, which means that the Rogue is a better choice if you often transport passengers or bulky cargo.
All of the technology you want
While the 2024 Nissan Rogue is a modernized version of the model which arrived on the market in 2021, the Mazda CX-5 is still mostly the same vehicle as when the current generation launched all the way back in 2017. This means that despite Mazda making efforts to keep the CX-5 relevant, the Nissan Rogue easily surpasses it in terms of technology and features. Indeed, the 2024 Rogue offers a number of advanced technologies that are not found in the CX-5, such as the new Google Built-in infotainment system which is available for the first time in a Nissan vehicle on the SL and Platinum trim levels. This system allows you to enjoy an unprecedented level of integration with the Google ecosystem directly from your vehicle’s screen, improving connectivity and convenience. In addition, the Rogue benefits from all of the most advanced driver assistance features from Nissan, such as the ProPILOT Assist system and the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite of active safety technologies.
